The school offers predominantly English language classes, but also Japanese and Khmer. English is taught with New Headway which covers all the essential skills in English acquisition. On weekdays, 14 to 16 language classes are taught between 2 and 7pm as most students study at public schools in the morning.
On Saturdays our students take part in moral education from Buddhist Monks from Wat Thmey. The monks teach issues such as HIV/AIDS awareness, drug abuse and child trafficking, hygiene and health education, spiritual education as well as chanting and praying. We teach our students to become responsible for their own life and to make decisions for positive change.
Also environmental topics such as pollution, climate change, global warming, environment protection and sustainability are integrated into the curriculum.
Every three months we select 35 students for one term of computer studies. In this course they learn about Microsoft Word and Excel and also a little about computer maintenance. This gives our students more knowledge that is essential to getting a good job in the future.
If any volunteers have specific strengths in any of these areas, we warmly welcome your support on Saturdays!
